Chattering Class

This week's Great British banter

Oat milk

Maximum virtuous misery points available

"Totes" and "onesie" added to the OED

Devastating

Cassava crackers

The middle-class nibble du jour

Try putting the emphasis on "are" of "how are you?"

It sounds more sincere. (NB. only try this if prepared for a genuine answer)

Anything 24/7/365

Annoying x4

Writing "Hello everyone!" or some such first thing in the morning on Twitter

Really not necessary

My Family was not dropped for being too middle-class

We knew it

Fountain pen sales on the rise

Hurrah! Long live the lovely schooly fountain pen

Opening the train carriage window?

Just check first if there's one of those passengers who likes to bicker, and have a response ready

Loud, open-mouthed, squelchy gum chewing

Unacceptable

Chattering Class: what's getting us hot and bothered this week?

    Tony Blair

We're not interested man! Move along!

    Daybreak

And Adrian Chiles, who is like waking up with a hangover five days a week

    Children going back to school

Hopefully not in a bloody Portakabin!

    Juicy Jeni

You'd have thought the school would have had some influence

    The Xx

"Anna says she's gone off them now! Honestly, I can't keep up!"

    Secret Britain

For the scenery, and in no way because you fancy Matt Baker or Julia Bradbury

    The Slap

    So true to life

    Making plans for the autumn

In attempt to drive of disappointment of wet August with positive attitude

How on earth is The Slap true to life? It's about a bunch of degenerates. Is it really supposed to be an accurate portrayal of middle-class Australia?

Sarah, to be honest that comment was mean to be semi-ironic, ie it's what people were claiming about it rather than what it really was. I only read the blurb and didn't fact it. My wife however had a go and flung it across the room after about 20 pages.
